We’re not like other Albuquerque charter schools. And that’s the point.

As a public charter high school, we’re tuition-free and open to all students in the Albuquerque area, regardless of district. But unlike traditional schools, we’re independently run and free to design a system that works for how students actually learn. Students are chosen through a lottery, giving every applicant a fair chance—no favoritism, no testing, and no hoops to jump through.

Our curriculum is delivered through the Edgenuity platform, allowing us to offer a diverse and personalized course catalog. That means students get flexibility and choice without missing out on challenge or support. We combine tech-based learning with hands-on labs, small group work, and one-on-one guidance to give students the best of both worlds.

Small class sizes. Individualized education.

At Northpoint, we don’t just talk about supporting learning. We structure the whole school around it. Each student is paired with a sponsor teacher who acts as their go-to mentor for class planning, goal setting, and staying on track.

We keep our class sizes intentionally small, creating space for meaningful one-on-one time with teachers and educational assistants. Whether students need help with a tough lesson or want to dig deeper into a passion project, there’s always someone ready to help.

Student Life and Activities at Northpoint

For teens, school goes far beyond screens and textbooks, which is why we provide a range of extracurricular activities, including clubs and sports. We offer volleyball, basketball, and soccer as well as a competitive esports team. Students play against other schools in the Albuquerque Charter School League.

We also offer plenty of ways to connect, create, and lead: students can join a club, help build the yearbook, make friends in our Geek Squad board game group, or bring a creative vision to life in our STEA-focused Smart Lab.
